Club Fitting is a custom process. The golfer's goals and physical abilities are reviewed to insure the equipment will meet the golfer's need.

The Professional Clubfitters at FCG will test and observe the player's swing characteristics and physical abilities to suggest the correct grip, shaft and head design that will produce the shot pattern the player is seeking.

How is this accomplished?

Fitting is a process. It begins with information about the golfer and continues with trained observation by a clubfitter. The end result does not occur after the fitting.

We have every golfer stretch with one of our weighted training clubs. As we observe their slow motion swing we ask questions concerning their golf game, their occupation and other sports they have played. All of this information gives us a glimpse into the golfer's ability, swing type and range of motion.

We watch and observe as golfers hit a variety of clubs we have made specifically to assist us in the fitting process. As we observe launch angles, clubhead speed and on center hits we constantly ask the golfer their feedback from each club.

The fitting process continues as we ( the clubfitter and golfer) agree on what shafts felt best and performed best given the golfer's stated criteria he or she wishes to improve. A selection of grip, grip size, shaft, shaft length, clubhead design and lie angle is made. The process is still not over.

Upon receipt of the amended clubs or new clubs the golfer is asked to play the clubs for three rounds. After each shot the player must look for the divot line (the line of dirt that is formed on the iron face). If the divot lines are parallel to the scoring lines of the iron then the lie angle is correct. If the divot line does not run parallel to the scoring lines an additional lie angle adjustment is needed. This adjustment is at no charge and is common because some golfers will become nervous during a fitting and show the clubfitter a swing that they do not make on the course.

Even then the process is not over. At Fairway Custom Golf we believe that at the beginning of each year the lie angle should be checked by the golfer and by our clubfitters. All clubs change as they are used. Do not assume that any club will remain the same year after year.

For our customers who do not live close to our fitting centers please see our clubfitting survey located within our site. The submitted information will be analyzed and sent back to you with our analysis. The analysis will assist in narrowing the vast possibilities and will make club selection an easier process. Of course you can obtain equipment from us. All of our equipment has an unconditional guarantee. If for any reason you do not like the performance of your clubs return them to us within 30 days for additional adjustments or a full refund.
