Every Golf shaft ever made has irregularities and those irregularities cause bending & twisting in the shaft during your golf swing. This can result in mis-hit shots that are the fault of the equipment, not your swing. The patented and USGA-approved SST PURE process of club assembly uses proprietary computer analysis to locate each shafts irregularities and align the shaft to neutralize them, so that each club bends in the direction it should....straight down the target line. Fairway Custom Golf, an SST LICENSEE since February 2002, has PURED over 3000 shafts for performance conscious golfers. The process to PURE an existing golf club includes the removal of the old grip and grip tape, the removal of the head and all old epoxy from outside and inside the shaft, the visual inspection of the raw shaft, the computer assisted PUREING and finally the reassembly of the club with the most stable position of the shaft at right angles to the clubface. The cost to PURE an existing shaft is $ 50. The cost to PURE a new shaft for installation into a club is $ 25. To view more information on SHAFT PUREING visit their web site at WWW.pureshaft.com A crucial component of a golf club is the correct and customized LIE ANGLE. This adjustment to a golf club enables the golfer to take the correct posture and stance while utilizing the best possible swing plane. Without the correct lie angle the golfer must adjust his or her posture and swing to accomodate for the club. Playing golf with clubs that do not have the proper lie angle for you, results in making the game more difficult, through inconsistent shots and ultimately physical problems because of a poor posture. A quick self check to determine if your lie angles are correct for you. 1. Were your current clubs fitted for someone else? 2. Are your divots deeper on the outside edge versus the inside edge? 3. Does the divot line (the dirt line that develops on the face of your irons after repeated use.) run at an incline across the face of the club? If you answered yes to any of the three questions you are in need of at least a lie angle check. Fairway Custom Golf, offers loft and lie checks as part of our fitting service at no charge at either of our locations. We charge $5 per club to alter the loft or lie angles with a machine similar to the one shown. It is not uncommon for loft & lie angles to change through normal use of a golf club. Serious golfers have their lofts and lies checked quite often throughout the course of a season. Another basic tool of the cusotm club maker is the Frequency Meter. This machinery measures the oscilaiton of a golf shaft to determine its' stiffness while in motion. It is quite common to have a set of clubs that are not "frequency matched". If a set of clubs do not have shafts that perform similarly during a golf swing the golfer will see various results from club to club, making it harder to obtain reliable feedback while practicing |
